The Saudi biology team won six silver medals at the 2025 International Open Biology Olympiad (OIBO), held in Sochi, Russia, from May 10-17, with the participation of 100 students from 17 countries worldwide.
This achievement is a culmination of the joint efforts of the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and the Ministry of Education, as part of their commitment to empowering and nurturing gifted students and preparing them to participate in international scientific competitions and represent the Kingdom in the best possible way.
The Kingdom was represented at this international Olympiad by a team of six talented students, all of whom won silver medals, a significant achievement that adds to the Kingdom's growing record in scientific Olympiads.
The team included students Abdullah Hajed Al-Subaie from the Taif Education Department, Fouad Hussein Bajunaid from the Jeddah Education Department, Hassan Abdullah Al-Bahhar from the Riyadh Education Department, Hamza Mohammed Ba’eesa from the Riyadh Education Department, Ziyad Ahmed Al-Numri from the Royal Commission in Yanbu Education Department, and Elias Fawzi Asloub from the Jeddah Education Department.
