Introduction

Based on the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz - may God have mercy on him - and the unlimited interest and support given by the wise leadership in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all matters related to the field of identifying and caring for the talented, and the need to unify and develop the efforts made at the present time to discover the talented and innovators, the idea of adopting a joint national program implemented by the most important national bodies with long experience and qualified cadres in this field came, which consolidates the deep belief in the importance of discovering this important and special category in supporting the transformation of the Kingdom's society into a knowledge society in which sustainable development is achieved.
The strategic partnership began in 2011 with Mawhiba, the Ministry of Education, and the National Center for Assessment to establish and implement the “National Program for the Identification of Giftedness” through standardized tools and measures. A model for the identification of giftedness was developed based on an advanced scientific methodology that relies primarily on the most important scientific foundations and best educational practices to ensure the proper selection of promising gifted students. Through this, a huge and comprehensive database was built for all gifted men and women in all regions and cities of the Kingdom and for all age groups in the stages of general education.
